Attracting Pollinators with Native Plants Workshop
Join The Art of Ecology for a summer workshop, geared towards getting you outside, exploring local habitats, and discovering a few ways that homeowners can take easy actions to support pollinators that visit their property.
What to Expect:
During this Protecting Pollinators With Native Plants workshop (special for Pollinator Month!), participants will explore pollinator habitat through a walk through a property in the process of creating certified pollinator habitat to take a look at what elements of the habitat will support pollinator species (including butterflies, moths, bees, birds, bats, beetles, and more). During this plant-for-pollinators ID walk, participants will also engage in planting demonstrations to learn proper planting techniques that will help your native plants-for-pollinators thrive and establish themselves. We shall discuss the lifecycle of many pollinators and how different stages, such as the larval and adult life stages require different resources and how to provide and maintain habitat for the entire lifecycle! At the end, participants will get to take home native host AND nectar plants to incorporate into their yards. Event is rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
Details:
Located at the Brinker property: 261 Old New Road, Doylestown PA, 18901
Admission: $50/pp. A portion of the proceeds is used to restore pollinator habitats locally! Space is limited to only 15 participants, so be sure to save your space and register early!
These programs are designed for homeowners to learn more about ways to improve habitat for wildlife on their property, however the workshops are open for any age, 10+. Subscribe to my eblast HERE for event notifications.
