Colors of Nature Virtual Presentation

Explore the colors of the rainbow as we investigate the purpose of colors of the garden! In this Colors of Nature, hour long, virtual zoom seminar, participants will learn why are flowers so vibrant, what does black and orange mean when seen on a butterfly visiting a milkweed plant? We’ll take a look at the various pigments found in nature and their functions during this virtual presentation highlighting the photography of Marissa Jacobs (creator of The Art of Ecology).

We shall go over:

  • Purpose of pigments in the natural world
  • Xanthophylls, Chlorophyll, Anthocyanins, and Carotenoids
  • Native Plants
  • …and more!

Plenty of time will be given at the end for question & answer time.

Program will be recorded and sent out to all registrants, so sign up even if you can’t attend live! Admission is “Pay What You Can”, with a variety of budget-friendly options available (you MUST register even if you choose not to pay so that I know where to email the zoom link). A portion of the proceeds supports wildlife conservation efforts and ensures that I can continue creating educational content. Those who pay $15 or more will also get some of my illustrated weatherproof colorful, nature themed stickers in the mail as a thank you!

If you do not see the zoom link & confirmation in your email inbox within 24hrs., please check your spam folder, then check that you spelled your email address correctly, then reach out to me at mjacobs@theartofecology.com (at least 20 minutes prior to the presentation start time!).
