Scientific Illustration for the Budding Nature Journaler Class
Bring out your inner artist and hone your skills as we discover the ins-and-outs of scientific and botanical illustration in order to create beautiful documentation of ecosystem observations in a nature journal keepsake. No prior art or natural science experience necessary, however a basic understanding of drawing shapes, color theory, and plant vs. animal classifications are helpful.
We shall be specifically studying Materials Used, Taxonomy, Techniques, Environmental Impacts on Species, Becoming a Naturalist, and Creating a Complete Journal. After the first week, each following week shall incorporate a hands-on drawing activity.
Class meets weekly on Thursdays September 8th – October 13th, at 1:40-2:55pm. Registration for courses opens on Monday, August 1st.
Class is offered through Delaware Valley University’s Center for Learning in Retirement (although any ages are welcome to enroll in this course!). You can learn more about my scientific illustration work HERE.
