Summer Foraging Workshop
Discover the benefits of the vibrant greens, yellows, oranges, and reds as we identify wild-edibles in the landscape in this Intro to Summer Foraging Workshop.
What To Expect:
We will take a foraging walk around the property before heading back to the center to try some pre-made seasonal wild-edibles and create our own tea blends use to cool down and regulate our internal body temperature during the workshop. The first portion of the event will take place outside, learning about foraging etiquette, sustainability, and plant ID. Foraging Documents to create your own Materia Medica (foraging book) will be available. Each participant will also get to create their own custom loose-leaf tea blend made from locally foraged plants.
Pease dress according to the weather. The event is held rain or shine. During this Summer Foraging Workshop, participants MAY be able to try snacks that are not limited to Daylily pickles, Black Walnut Liqueur, Sumac Lemonade, Wildflower cupcakes, and Pepperweed Salsa with chips (dependent on seasonal availability). All food is gluten free. All refreshments, dried plants for tea, tea pouches, and Materia Medica templates are provided.
