Telling the Story of the Natural World Through Photography

Join Bucks County Audubon Society for the National Audubon Society’s Photography Awards Opening Reception! View stunning bird photography from photographers around the world, sip on some wine, enjoy refreshments, and listen to a presentation about “Telling the Story of the Natural World Through Photography” by guest speaker & photographer, Marissa Jacobs (The Art of Ecology).

During this presentation, Marissa will talk about the National Geographic Society’s standard and properties of telling stories through photography, and talk about how we can protect and conserve the natural world (both wildlife and wild spaces) and the ecosystems we’re a part of through artistic mediums, such as photography. Her presentation will incorporate some of her own award-winning photography and she will even demonstrate some of the story-telling techniques and properties through a Photo Story of Bucks Audubon, which utilizes photos she took of the center and property as part of a photo project she completed through National Geographic’s educator course in the fall of 2020.

Admission to the Opening Reception of the photo awards and to the presentation is $5/Bucks Audubon member and $10/non-members.
