Wildflowers of Winter Botanical Illustration Workshop

What To Expect:

Hike to explore the incredible adaptations and functions of winter wildflowers during this Wildflowers of Winter Botanical Illustration Workshop! After this hike to measure, observe, and photograph winter wildflowers such as Skunk Cabbage, Witch Hazel, Snowdrops, Forsythia, and others, warm up with coffee as we blend the arts and sciences through botanical illustration. Participants will learn how to compose subjects for illustration, how to “grey wash” with colored pencil to add dimension and depth, and to practice some techniques to accurately portray these beautiful plants.

This Botanical Illustration Class is ideal for those who have  experience with basic drawing techniques. Participants should understand how to draw basic shapes, how to incorporate basic shadows and highlights, as well as how to blend colors using colored pencil.
