Blackberry can be more useful than we think! Not only do they provide food for many wildlife species (including us), and their bramble-y thicket nature provides habitat and shelter, and their flowers attract small pollinators, but they also can be used as a dye plant!
This was one of the first wildlife photos I ever took that spurred me on to want to explore and observe wildlife & their relationship with plants, through photography and art. I was fascinated by the fact that this little dude, despite being green while the lily was yellow, was still hard to find. The little cutie knew where and how to hide.
This Regal Walnut Moth is part of my new Moths of PA series (they will become a super cool sticker set in the near future to celebrate National Moth Week in July)!
What happen to all of those spring flowers? Did they just disappear?
