Learn more about botanical illustration during this one-night course themed around Halloween! We will take a look at dead flowers, bizarre plants, and skull-shaped seed heads.
During this series, you can expect to learn:
- More about botanical illustration in general and how to get started
- How to use your observation skills to gain a deeper understanding of plant anatomy
- How plants present their pigments and how you can replicate those colors as the illustrator
- and… discover Scientific Illustration as a whole as we delve into the pollinators that your flowers and plants may rely on!
We will be meeting virtually, from the comfort of our own homes, so we will use Discord (get the free app here) for Audio & Video chatting. You do NOT need a discord log in to participate, however it does help enhance your participation. Upon registering here, you will be emailed a Discord server link invitation (to The Art of Ecology’s server). Simply accept the invite within 24hrs (let me know if you miss the deadline and I will send you a new link!), and join the general voice channel/web cam in order participate (I will also email a discord tutorial to those who are first time users.)
Simply be ready with paper, a pencil, ink, coloring implements, and a creative mind!
Space is capped at 24 participants each week, so register early!
