Did you know that during the holiday season (mid-November – New Year), landfill waste increases by over 25%? Let’s creatively address this issue and how to mitigate this waste during this virtual presentation.

What to Expect

Between Thanksgiving hostess gifts, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Year’s parties, and more, this time of year is filled with glittery and glossy wrapping paper, single-use plastic bags, and synthetic ribbons. This zoom presentation will address the issue, include some landfill waste statistics special for the holiday season, touch on who to contact in your township or municipality with recycling questions, and go over several ways to creatively minimize holiday waste through gift wrapping methods such as Furoshiki, Origami, and compostable papers and designs! There will be time for questions all throughout the presentation. Registrants will receive the zoom link the morning of the presentation to the email used for registration (check spam folders if you have not received it and email any questions to mjacobs@theartofecology).
