Seed balls are amazing ways to combine a variety of seeds in one nutritious packet and grow in the local ecosystem! Join in on the fun of creating your own native pollinator plant seed balls to take home and watch them germinate.

What is a Seed Ball?

Seed balls are comprised of a “seed ball matrix” made of all sorts of nutrients and substrate for your seeds to grow in. Simply add native seeds to the matrix with a little bit of water, then take home to throw into the garden, into empty soil spaces, or even do some guerrilla seed “bombing” by chucking these little balls of native plants along roadsides and in unmanaged meadows!

Details:

During the program, participants will learn how to create their own DIY seed balls, the importance of native plants for pollinators such as birds, bees, and butterflies, then make their own seed ball varieties to take home. Each participant will take home 10 seed balls for the garden. A lucky participant may also find themselves walking away with established native plants for the garden as well!

All seed ball growth medium, seeds, and plant materials provided. Bring your own gloves if you’d like!
