drying foraged flowers

Pressing & Drying Foraged Flowers

Have you ever wondered how to harvest plants and dry them to create your own tea blends or herbal blends to use in oils, vinegars, or tinctures? Join me for an evening for harvesting some edible and wild medicinal plants before learning about some drying & flower pressing techniques.

What to Expect:

The first portion of the event will take place outside as we forage for wild edible plants that are delicious in tea blends, and wild-medicinals that we can dry to create tinctures and oils with all year-round. Once we have harvested plants such as Red Clover, Pine Needles, Spicebush, and more, we will bring them back to the center to learn how to properly dry them to prevent mold growth and to preserve their flavor and beneficial chemical constituents. Once we have learned these techniques, it makes harvesting plants during the growing season to use in the winter a breeze! Each participant will bring home some harvested plants for drying as well as get to create their own custom, loose leaf tea blend made with locally foraged and dried plants.
