Zero Waste Gift Wrapping Workshop
Get creative with new gift wrapping techniques that reduce landfill waste this holiday season!
What to Expect:
Did you know that landfill waste increases by over 30% during the months of November-December due to the increase in unsustainable gift wrapping? Think of the hostess gifts, Christmas and Hanukkah presents that have all of the shiny, glittery wrapping paper, huge amounts of packing tape, and glossy boxes aren’t usually reused, and most can’t be recycled. During this program, discover some unique and zero-waste methods for gift wrapping that will still add some holiday cheer to the gifts you give! During this workshop, participants will learn more about the recycling process, and Furoshiki, Origami, & Compostable gift wrapping methods. After the presentation portion, there will be plenty of time to actually wrap your gifts using these sustainable methods! Fabric, all-natural papers, compostable inks for decorating, dried plants, eco-friendly adhesives, and other materials will be available for participants to utilize, so don’t forget to bring your gifts along for the fun!
