Invasive Species Removal & Foraging

Join The Art of Ecology for a summer morning’s workshop, geared towards getting you outside, exploring local habitats, and discovering a few ways that homeowners can take easy actions to do an invasive species removal on their property as well as how to use them in the kitchen!

What to Expect:

During this Invasive Species Removal & Foraging workshop, we shall be taking a walk through a property that is in the process of creating a wildlife habitat. As we walk along, identifying amazing summer wild-edibles on the property, we shall explore the benefits of native plants, and talk about the importance of reducing invasive species on our properties. During this walk, we shall examine invasive species removal techniques, preventing invasive seed dispersal during removal, and how to use some of the plants culinarily and medicinally! At the end, participants will get to taste some wild-edibles, created with locally foraged plants – many of which are invasive.
