Bee Home & Habitat

Bee Home & Habitat Workshop

Spend time learning about the importance of pollinators such as carpenter bees while making a bee home & habitat of your own!

What To Expect in the Bee Home & Habitat Program

This time of the year, pollinators like birds, bees, and butterflies are busy collecting nectar from the flourishing flowers in our backyards. In this children’s workshop, we will discuss various ways pollinators contribute to our environment, the unique behaviors and characteristics of carpenter bees, and what we can do to protect these important insects. Each participant will build their own carpenter bee hive to take back home.

Details:

Ages 8-12  are welcome.

Admission is $25/per student. All habitat materials are provided, however bringing your own tin can for the bee house is welcome if you’d like (tin can should be at least 6 inches deep. Canned fruit, veggies, beans, etc… work very well)! A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the Peace Valley Nature Center.
