Dubai

In September of 2020, I was the event photographer and presenter for “Telling A Story Through Photography” for a multinational Global Leadership Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates! During the week-long conference, the participants had some free time throughout the day to explore and each night the entire group went to a special dinner event. During those exploratory times, I was able to investigate the natural environment of the Dubai desert. I was shocked to see so many plants, and was even more shocked to see a desert so close to the Persian Gulf. A wide waterway cuts through Old City Dubai, which is called “The Creek”. I was so excited – during a trip out to the sand dunes and old Bedouin camps – when we drove through a rainstorm, brought in from clouds over the mountains in Oman! This trip was quite an experience – you can read about an “Ecologist’s View of Dubai” blog post here.
